Hey, I'm Fulton Browne, a 16 year old (class of 2023, home schooled) programmer, LOTR fan, and general nerd. Most of my programming stuff centers around UNIX (OpenBSD being my favorite flavour), cryptography (still not good enough to have anything real on that front), Plan9, and the small web. I value software simplicity, security, and user privacy.
You can also find me on gemini.
I run a semi-public access UNIX machine
I'm the programmer on FTC team 9387
My code is hosted here
My blog is here
Some pictures I've taken
9front mirror here
A screenshot of my main machine (Thinkpad x230, Plan9 fork)
If you want to send me mail send it to fulton at this domain.
Books I'm reading
War And Peace by Leo Tolstoy - Way better than I thought it would be (I was expecting some dry philosophy shpeel)
Serious Cryptography by Jean-Philippee Aumasson - Reading this book to learn cryptography - so far I've learned a ton.
Hikes I enjoy
I've been doing bits and peices of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) - Loving it so far.
Calling it a hike is a bit of stretch, but Battle Ground Lake State Park is somewhere I frequent
The Luschia (I probably spelled that wrong) Falls area has a bunch of great hikes
The freaking Colombia River Gorge has more hikes then you want to think about
Software I use
On my machines I run 9front(a fork of Plan9), Debian Linux, Gentoo Linux, and OpenBSD.
For editors I use sam(1), acme(1), and vi(1).
For web Browsers I use Firefox (on UNIX) and Phil9's Netsurf port (on Plan9)
TODO finish this!!!
Music I enjoy
I mostly listen to post punk and noise rock. I hate proietary software and DRM, but I do have a Spotify playlist
Sites and blogs I enjoy
