+Given that I already had a hatred against Microsoft and their things it was kinda obvious that sooner or later I'd end up moving my repositories to elsewhere , just didn't know to where by then.

+Basically the UI is so bad that I just couldn't be bothered to even use it myself. Things were only going to get worse. 
+
+Finally deleted my account around January 2021 after I moved most of my repositories to Codeberg and other development platforms.
+
+# GitLab
+The entire interface of GitLab is just unusable without JavaScript enabled and a "modern" browser , way worse than GitHub despite this one being open source. Basically used to use it too for some (now dead) repositories , and god damn it it's really bad. 
+
+Although I've made another account on there just for AuroraOSS I may end up purging the account sometime , on a side note , I have also accounts at Framagit (Framasoft's GitLab) and TeDomum Forge (obvious isn't it) , and I'll purge them too, for exactly the same reasons.
+
+# BitBucket
+Automatically sucks because it just doesn't work without JavaScript , and adding an SSH key is unnecessarily difficult to do.
+
+# SourceForge
+Most (if not all) of its assets (like CSS or JavaScript) are hosted on cloudflared hosts, and for mailing lists in particular, it requires Gogle ReCAPTCHA for verification, what a joke. 
+Also, the page looks entirely broken on non-chromium / non-firefox web browsers, like Lynx, or ven WebKit-based browsers (I think), and therefore unusable.
+Deleting an account there is also somewhat difficult, but at least they allow the user to do it by filing up a ticket on their tracker.

+recently i've got two new hosts and installed void linux on one of them using the minirootfs for chroots because their iso files now require uefi and the host wasn't compatible with it.
+
+can't really say much about it since it also has the kind of same setup as the alpine one but it's bit different , since networkmanager works on void , somehow , while on alpine didn't work but that's explained on the other note.

+Other than it apparently doesn't have PGP support this terminal client is excellent, like mutt, and being made by SourceHut is a quality proof to be fair.
+
+# Alpine [console]
+Turns out I've took some time to set it up and running with IMAP on this client.
+It also supports NNTP which is a nifty feature so I can browse (and post to) newsgroups.
+
+# Claws Mail [graphical]
+I used this one as my default email client, it perfectly fits my needs on a minimal graphical environment, it even has good OpenPGP support and I appreciate that. I recommend this client for day-to-day use.
+
+Update #1: as of 4.x it now uses GTK+3 for the GUI and that made it look really weird. 
+Update #2: Fortunately I can still use the 3.x version which uses GTK+2.
+
+# Evolution [graphical]
+This is GNOME's view on an email client, which is more like Thunderbird, but looks apparently better than Mozilla's client. 
+By far it's seconded by Claws on my rating. Good one I guess
+
+# mutt [console]
+My default email client on a non-graphical environment, besides from aerc-mail, it also perfectly suits my needs, also, it has Vim-like keybindings so it's kind of a godsend to be fair. 
+Excellent client, also has OpenPGP support.
+
+# (neo)mutt [console]
+Couldn't ever get used to this client, despite it being backwards-compatible with mutt, never got it to load mutt's default .muttrc because of some syntax errors specific to neomutt, while in mutt it just worked as-is, weird.
+
+Update #3: Actually, on second thoughts, configuring it isn't so difficult (both the .neomuttrc and the .muttrc are similar in syntax, but have their differences)
+
+# Sylpheed
+I currently use this client on my host as a replacement to Claws, it's equallly as good though it seems unmaintained on upstream. It doesn't have as many features like Claws has, but it just works.

+Update #4: I don't use this one anymore, returned to Claws. However, I may consider it again sometime
+Update #5: I don't use graphical clients anymore, because I do practically everything inside a console

+since august 31 , 2020 i joined mastodon on the mstdn.social instance and posted my first “toot” ever , it was both liked and replied from people of the fediverse , i started making friends there and the day later i opened my diaspora* and pixelfed accounts to start posting varied content there.

+then the phenomenon in itself started growing and i became more active in there. some days later i started playing in pleroma on land of kittens and then on peertube in the opentube instance but due to some troubles with that instance i closed and then opened another account in there with no success in uploading a single video i made!

+i left peertube for a while until i found koyu’s peertube instance and joined there and it was worth the try. i also went curious about the fediverse and joined misskey in the cliq.social instance and it was so fun that i am staying in there too!

+actually i’m trying out plume and i found it very interesting too. also i joined funkwhale some days ago and i uploaded a playlist of mine in there! same with friendica but i’m still getting used to it. i think i’m gonna stay on the fediverse for a long time.

+I don't know how this happened but I had a neurogenic shock[1] yesterday, followed by low blood pressure.
+This isn't the first time I was close to dying. 
+It also once happened around 2016 when I was 15 years old, but not the same problem, but something related to the lungs.
+In both cases I almost fully recovered. My legs still hurt for some reason and I'm barely able to walk. 
+
+Update #1 : I'm able to walk completely as of 2021-06-28.
+Update #2 : According to the hospital's reports, I was (technically) dead the entire past Sunday.

+Literally most if not all the things they recommend are inherently wrong. 
+Some examples :
+
+* Matrix for decentralized messaging
+	* Literally wrong, your best bet is XMPP
+
+* Cloudflare DNS for avoiding Google's DNS (are you kidding me?) 
+	* e.g. this appeared on PrivacyTools' website
+
+* Using a certain model of smartphones (Google's Pixel phones with some Android spin-off)
+	* Your best option is to not to use one at all, you can't be private on those devices.
+
+* Using Firefox and/or Chromium
+	* Just abandon the modern web at that point, seriously, those two are trash.
+
+* Using dubious-at-best email providers
+	* e.g. ProtonMail, Tutanota, CTemplar. Neither of the three respect any standard at all, and the clients are webshit *only* accesible through a browser, and they don't allow the user to use a sane email client.

+I was moderator of one in Telegram, and I also was a participant on some other ones on Matrix. 
+I had really painful experiences in both, and just wanted to never again join any of those rooms. 
+When for example I've recommended XMPP many times on those rooms, I always got turned down by some Matrix shill, and attacking me with 'ad hominem', what was the response of the admins/mods there? 
+Nothing, they just keep it going. Only for me to end up going mad.

+# Websites
+
+Modern web is bad, seriously. Why in the name of fuck you use JavaScript on your website?
+Why do you need TONS of those shit only to show some content?
+e.g. Techlore's website doesn't load on a sane browser[1] like NetSurf, or text-based browsers.
+As for PrivacyTools (now PrivacyGuides since it changed name) it abuses of a pseudo web standard known as HTML5 which of course it won't work on sane browsers.
+
+
+I guess this is all for now, i'll give you some advice, *always* do your own research, don't follow anything blindly without knowing about it, and , most importantly, be conscious of what you're doing.

+So for quite a time now (don't remember since when) I have my separate aports tree for the https://alpinelinux.org distribution , which is based on https://busybox.net and the https://musl.libc.org , thus being minimal and simple by design.
+
+The reason of why I have it is pretty much there's lots of stuff missing on the community repo on upstream and it required me to build the things I needed from their source code.
+
+And they were a lot , and even when my needs were already satisfied , I just kept porting stuff , because I really like doing that. And that's why I made it public, so anybody can use it.
+
+Though I probably won't upstream those APKBUILDs because I don't like GitLab , they could've been used a gitea instance or something , but that's just my take on it.....
+

+In a class I had yesterday on the school, a teacher from the classroom asked me if I could develop an application for the Android mobile operating system.
+That was my worst nightmare come true, since I don't want to have anything to with smartphones anymore. I can't even use my preferred text editor (Vim) for the task. Instead, I've to use Android Studio, which is proprietary and bloated-to-no-end crapware for that.
+I'll probably be going insane at this. I can't deal with this piece of crap.
+Worse enough, it isn't for something common, but something which has to act in a client (in a way) for a hardware CO2 meter which can send a notification via wireless methods (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) to the smartphone.
+And the application has to receive it and display it in any way.
+Seriously, I cannot do that. 
+Being a server maid (as in server administrator I mean) is far easier (and saner) than developing for mobile devices (smartphones) because I can deal with that.
+The teacher's asking me for an impossible task, I'd for sure refuse to do.
+I've already had enough pain when I did Android development in the past.
+I can't stand it.

+It's been a while I haven't written anything here, since I was mainly editing existing posts.
+I barely even know how to spend my time anymore, because I just only want to sleep, due to school.
+I've been watching anime again since late October, and I've finished like two.
+However, I migrated one of my computers (the last one I got) to FreeBSD because Alpine stopped working out of nowhere. It was kind of fun, except it took me a whole night due to backups.
+For the installation and setup part it wasn't entirely difficult other than me being still used to some Linux-specific things, but I'm otherwise fine with it.
+Haven't got the need to use graphical stuff again yet, at least.
+
+Hopefully by the end of the year I should finish school, and get my plans running, and that's another story.

+time for me to actually write a rant describing what happened on 2020 from my perspective.
+
+just as everyone on the school (i was in 6th year by then) after three days of actual classes on there , the pandemic kinda started (it was already began though) and we were forced to do online classes , my classmates didn’t give a shit and did whatever they said. but not necessarily myself , as i clearly disagreed with that idea.
+
+literally we had online classes the entire fucking year and i personally learnt more things outside of school rather than inside , my school even has infrastructure for , say , self-hosting services of their own to not depend on big corporations , but the sysadmin is literally incompetent so they didn’t do anything with the infra.
+
+instead they used google classroom and zoom to do the fucking shit at the cost of personal information , of course just as mentioned , classmates didn’t give a fuck about it and continued as if nothing has happened, but i stopped attending online classes around august 2020 , just to discover the fediverse and the decentralized communication platforms.
+
+i’ve ascended on the wired to the point i didn’t want to depend on big tech anymore. so i planned to delete my remaining accounts by the end of the year as i was migrating contacts and such to nextcloud.
+
+when i finally reached the end of year i said goodbye forever to google and the big tech. currently they still force me to have a google account but i’ll always say a big fuck you! to them , if needed.
+
+i’m independent on the wired and i will always stand up to my beliefs. you don’t ever learn anything from online classes , i mean literally.
+
+some report in denmark showed up that almost the entire student population was against online classes , for very good reasons i think.
+
+other than that , they just suck and as such they are considered harmful.
+

+i took a break from social media on 18 january for relaxing and doing some good stuff in the meantime , like web design , etc.

+i also installed and used void linux in the laptop until i said “no more” to that distro and went off to using alpine linux , which already fullfills my needs.
+
+in the time between i left fedi and before i returned gamercat told me on a direct chat on xmpp that isi , our friend from fedi came back. to be honest , i was so happy after realizing that.

+also today it was the birthday of one of my cats , which turned one year since 2020.

+So I had a freesite (freenet site) mirror of my own website for a short while, but besides that my network is unreliable, my host can't stand it. 
+So the links at the website are currently dead, also may need to figure out something on the laptop which could be a possible host for the freenet node, but it can't connect to network somehow. 
+I'll see if I can run it once again sometime, as that was just a test run.

+the installation of the distro was pretty straightforward basically. i used the extended iso which doesn't require network connection , and still being minimal it worked as expected
+
+the post-install phase was more difficult though , because i didn't get networking software working properly , as i took actually two days in setting it up. ended up using dhcpcd and wpa_supplicant because networkmanager is a fucking pain , and connman didn't work somehow , even with the service enabled on the default runlevel.
+
+afterwards i started customizing openbox with the tint2 panel , and as of today , like a month after it pretty much like it , it looks so simple but also beautiful.
+
+i pretty much replicated the setup on one of my new hosts , the only difference was it that i did not use the installation image but a minirootfs tarball for chroots

+I have like, three window managers installed on my main machine running FreeBSD 13.0-R

+Hardly know anything about it, aside from it being built-in on a OpenBSD base install.

+A window manager I once disliked alongside i3 for no reason at all, besides from extreme shilling from some of its users. 
+Only issue I had with it was because of conflicts with profanity and weechat, so I ended up recompiling it from the FreeBSD Ports tree and it uses the Win key instead of Alt. 
+It became my second-favorite window manager, and I use it as vanilla as possible, mainly to avoid it turning it to shit.

+At first, just like with dwm I got very weirded out because I came from using w9wm, its perfect opposite. 
+Adapted myself quite quickly to it over time, and eventually became second nature to me. 
+It's pretty smooth from my experience. 
+At least I was looking to make more use of my keyboard, and I guess I've already achieved that with tiling window managers.

+This is by far, after Lagrange of course, one of the best graphical Gemini (and Gopher) clients out there.
+I used to use it on my current host and it's really good, I can even customize the style of the pages and such.

+Lives up to its slogan, it's awesomeness knows no end. 
+I had it installed on my host but apparently Alpine's upstream package has issues so building from source is the only option, though the version I self-built myself did work.

+Out of boredom, while I was thinking between moving from RSA to Ed25519 on my GPG key-pair and doing something else, ten days ago
+I started writing my own password manager in posix shell, which instead of gpg(1) (there are a lot tbh), it uses age(1) as 
+backend for encryption. 
+By now it's mostly finished, after some odd struggle with some internal functions of the scripts, which I've already sorted out. 
+The script works roughly the same like a similar thing which is an alternative to pass(1), on posix 
+shell as well. 
+I've documented mine already, and the manual page was written in mdoc(7) format, which I guess it's fairly portable
+between Unices, i don't know.
+To list all of the entries on the password store, it needs tree(1) to do that. 
+Unlike pass(1) or even gopass(1), I probably won't implement VCS integration or generation of passwords built-in into the script.
+However, if I do that, they'll be on a separate repository, or something along those lines, as separate scripts.

+I'm against html5 for quite a variety of reasons, one of them is that isn't an standard (or "living standard" as WHATWG says) but an eternal draft. 
+Which only Google Chrome (spyware browser) can fully implement , leaving all other minor web browsers behind. 
+
+And the second is that while it exists, it harms the WWW as we know it , along with , say , JavaScript (websites are heavily infested with this nowadays) , and thus they render useless without it. 
+
+I use a modified variant of Luakit[1] which is a browser configurable and extensible by Lua, it fits all of my needs, although if I actually browse for example , the ActivityPub social media platforms I have to use Falkon[2] because it crashes Luakit , also most of them require JavaScript enabled for them to work , and I just can't be bothered in whitelisting sites in the browser.

+Back to the point , legitimately HTML 4.01 was the latest version of HTML itself , not HTML5. 
+I use XHTML 1.1 on my personal website because I want it to work on literally any web browser , even the corporate ones , without issues. 
+I just can't do that with HTML5 , because as mentioned before, it only gets fully implemented in Chrome.

+As a matter of testing, I got a Raspberry Pi laptop from school, at least temporarily (though I don't know for *how* much).
+Some teacher authorized me to carry one of them with myself so I can tinker with it.
+At first glance said device's layout was literally weird to me, even more than my own laptop for that matter.
+For example, the touchpad is not located below the keyboard, rather, it is side-by-side with the keyboard. 
+As for the keyboard itself, probably besides some weirdness arised with how the keys were placed and all that, there's also some extra dedicated keys, each for an specific action (opening file manager, a terminal emulator, etc), but there was missing an AltGr key for a chance, so no way of typing the '@' char or the '~' char on it. Haven't found a way with that.

+Software-wise I was already used to Debian (this one is Raspberry Pi OS, formerly Raspbian) and was pretty much the same thing, besides CPU architecture (armv7l hard-float). 
+I haven't been really liking Debian though, it has many issues in and of itself, and that applies to derivatives too. 
+I still don't know how to, spin up Alpine on one of these devices. If dealing with uSD cards was already hard on a phone I don't imagine how is that on an SBC-powered laptop, huh.
+I got bored of it for today, haven't done much other than finishing some pending things from yesterday.
+I also customized the setup quite a bit, a hostname change, then the password change, and installed vim, lol.

+One of my dreams was having one of those for myself, and probably tinker with it even more.

+I always wonder why the Matrix protocol[1] even exists , it just reminds of systemd[2] in a way or another because it wants to replace XMPP[3] with something more complex (and centralizing) , just like Discord[4] , but "open source". I'll explain why Matrix is the best example of Suck on the IM field.
+
+1. Protocol is garbage : the thing itself is so massively bloated by design , and no one but the Matrix.org owners can change it however they see fit. Thus forcing every server administrator to upgrade , else they get kicked out of the federation.
+
+2. Server implementation is garbage : Synapse is the only "working" server implementation , and by being written in Python has both high RAM comsuption and waste of storage space , without an option to even purge the ever growing message log. 
+There are other server implementations , yes , but they're all incomplete compared to Synapse. Unlike any XMPP server implementation this one requires literally a supercomputer (of sorts) to get running because of the memory/storage requirements.
+
+3. Clients are garbage: Element Desktop isn't even a native program but an "Electron app" which in turn is based on a JS-infested web interface called Element Web , and while there are forks of them , they don't seem to fix the issue. 
+Also given the fact just like the remaining of the "modern web" it just works on Chrome. 
+There are desktop clients that doesn't really suck but again , they're incomplete when compared to Element. On mobile devices it's kind of the same situation , except for the "web apps" thing.
+
+4. Feature creep: Matrix.org keeps adding new features to the protocol and thus Synapse and Element , getting closer to Discord in every turn in terms of bloat. Like it tries to do everything and thus failing at its own purpose.
+
+5. Decentralization is a joke , all users use Element + Matrix.org , despite the existence of other public servers.

+In a nutshell , is Matrix even needed , when we already have XMPP and other solutions?

+We tend to associate "Internet" with the WWW, but not only is the Internet not the same as web pages, but the web and its protocol (HTTP) were not even one of the first services to emerge or the most popular until well into the 90's. For example, when in 1993 the famous television program on American computers The Computer Chronicles presented in an Internet chapter, they did not get to talk about the WWW.

+Several of the protocols and services of that era (such as Gopher, USENET (NNTP)) were faded into oblivion with the commercial era of the Internet as early as the second half of the 1990s, although none disappeared completely. The email was kept and the WWW was the big winner. Then the story: The burst of the .com bubble in the 2000s, social networks such as Facebook or Twitter, the massification of the Internet in the developing world and the arrival of smartphones.

+The Tilde movement is fairly recent and arose almost by chance when Paul Ford, a software consultant, writer, and columnist has a very emotional encounter with an entry by Stevie Nicks (a former Fleetwood Mac member singer) on a website by way of daily thanking the soldiers of the armed forces in the years of the invasion of Afghanistan curiously populated with a strange character: ~ (virguilla or tilde). Ford decides that he is going to create a server to give away terminal accounts to anyone who asked for one via Twitter and thereby create many similar web pages [Story told by ~ ford himself]. This is how Tilde.club originally came about in October 2014 (almost exactly ten years after Nicks' post was published). Tilde.club ends up closing a year later.

+The growth of Tilde.club was explosive, donations arrived and computer scientists offered to collaborate. In addition, this consumed Ford's time to the point that there came a time when no more accounts could be created. The flip side of this moment is the number of people who couldn't get an account. One of those systems was SDF that started running on an Apple IIe in 1987 and since 1990 (with highs and lows) it works through different UNIX clones. Thanks to the cheaper technology and due to the need to finance the system, SDF eventually began to provide Internet connection services and use of the system.

+The SDF and other public access systems such as Grex, Polar or Blinkenshell, although they are not part of this world, Tilde did show that it was possible to create a world from servers. In fact, many people cohabit the world of public access UNIX servers and tildes.

+# The price of infrastructure has dropped
+During the first years of network computing, acquiring a computer was very expensive and they were practically not seen outside the first world, however, technology and especially electronics thanks to miniaturization and the massification of it has dropped a lot in price. This allows paying for a hosting service or virtual server to be quite inexpensive. Some tildes are hosted on a Raspberry Pi in a person's home. Public access servers like SDF have their own infrastructure and charge for some services or a membership that grants certain rights.

+i started using linux distributions since 2018 because i received malware from classmates and also the netbook was running slow and sometimes frozen due to the ram usage.
+
+it was also a kind of entering to a new universe when i first installed xubuntu alongside windows just for testing and i loved it , until i deleted windows from the machine. it was windows 7 by the time.
+
+lately by the end of the year i fucked up the system for the first time ever and switched to lubuntu , but then i fucked it up again , then i moved to devuan but it was bloated with software i didn’t need by the time but liked the xfce desktop.
+
+but since i started liking rolling release distributions i did give a try to void linux and it was my main distribution until my (first) netbook died.
+
+from the beginning to the middle of 2019 i started using antix linux and modified it to use the lxqt desktop , where i started first my personal project by the time being called “moonlight linux” , which i used until my (second) netbook went inactive due to hdd troubles.
+
+i was given a crippled laptop in late 2019 and installed mx linux alongside devuan and artix linux for using them as a base for moonlight linux , which is already mentioned earlier.
+
+i do not miss using windows at all and i feel so happy since then. :d
+

+Since quite a while ago (a month or so I guess) I had read this blog post by OCamlPro[1] about generating static PIE with OCaml.
+The first project on where I have tried doing so was Logarion[2] , and afterwards bumpmap-tool[2], each using a different build system.
+In the 1st case I had to add the field '(flags (:standard -cclib -static))' to the 'cli/dune' file and rebuilt with 'dune build'
+As for the 2nd case I added '-cclib -static' to the 'ocamlopt' flags in the command line and rebuilt.
+
+I ran the ldd command in both (test done on a musl-based distro) only to have this output:
+	- /lib/ld-musl-x86_64.so.1: (insert executable name here): Not a valid dynamic program
+
+Which means that it does actually work, but I'm not sure whether it could work for bigger projects.
+I think that's all I've got to say here.

+Haven't gone too far with simplicity on my host, but I've been testing some software projects at suckless[1] on my computer.

+Besides from not supporting SSL/TLS on IRC (by default, and that's not a bug) it runs excellent when combined with tmux[3] , I just use three tabs in the multiplexer (for each IRC server) , basically on this mode:
+- ii running on the first tab
+- a shell prompt where I can "echo" messages to the channel 'in' FIFO
+- another prompt showing the output of 'tail -f $irc_server/$irc_channel/out'
+
+I don't know if I'm doing it right but it works for me , lol
+Though I'll keep using irssi as my main client, which already works fine, XD.
+
+Only tested with just one channel on one network, as I still need to figure out how to do multiple channels on different servers.

+I think once or twice I tried to bootstrap that distro using a chroot tarball on my current host.
+So far the distro's repositories themselves are terribly broken in so many ways.
+For example, Profanity , a TUI client for XMPP somehow depends on GTK+3 for no stupid reason (a text-based program pulling on a graphical toolkit? what the hell?)
+X.Org pulls on like three hundred dependencies most of them are unneeded (e.g. Wayland, which is itself a really different thing.)
+I doubt the maintainers of the official repository are doing this intentionally or not, because it's really that bad.
+If I could, I would just hard-fork it and try to fix that mess. xbps is good and all but the default repos seriously are broken.
+Not even 'pacman' , which is Arch's package manager could fuck things up like this...
+It also has its own issues, but .....

+So between yesterday and today I improved Logarion's html parser despite me not really knowing OCaml , and I got it to generate valid HTML 4.01 Strict , instead of HTML5. At least just for the index page, but not the articles and/or topics of the site.
+
+I could write also one for XHTML based on that parser , though it may require some additional details to get done. (a lot)
+
+I currently use my personal branch of the code, which somehow works flawlessly (as of yet). 
+I sent the link to Logarion's main developer to check it out, and wait if it gets merged into upstream.
+My personal branch is located on SourceHut, under the same license as upstream code , and it's pretty much usable.
+
+* Update #1 : I ended up giving up on HTML4.01 for this one, though I've continued the work on HTML5 instead.
+* Update #2 : My changes made were merged , and probably will be part of the next stable release of Logarion.
+* Update #3 : For creating websites from scratch I'll always prefer using XHTML 1.1

+I've grown tired of all this Fediverse/ActivityPub fad for mainly
+technical reasons, the obvious one being the obvious fact that after
+all, they are clones of the corporate social media, as their appearance
+suggests, and because they're difficult to self-host in any way, due to
+the abuse of web technologies, for example, many JavaScript frameworks,
+or Python, or whatever. It's literal madness, even the available clients
+and alternative frontends abuse of that, which means, why in the name of
+hell even bother with all this?
+I've chose better and saner alternatives to Fediverse, in most ways
+possible, like E-mail, IRC, RSS feeds, Yarn.social (twtxt), and XMPP,
+which satisfy my needs in some way or another, and do their job well.

+nothing much happened in the meantime , but i made new friends on the fediverse , and i felt too happy. but the story doesn’t ends there.

+the administrators of mstdn.social , my home instance , messaged me directly on there and proposed me to be a moderator , and i willfully accepted my new role!
+
+later then , like 10 days later , the administrator of there was running a nsfw instance at the time and called me for being moderator on wtf.social too!
+
+that doesn’t lasted much time though…
+
+but on december 2 , the administrator told me of a newborn instance called nerd.town and i accepted the invitation. later something that i didn’t expect myself happened. i became co-admin of nerd.town!
+
+i couldn’t believe that. i was overjoyed by that! i had so many emotions running through my head , happiness being one of them. later i invited some friends of mine to that instance , and eveything went actually good since then. i still feel so happy about that. :d

+Before I found Pidgin I was using this client written in Java, but as anything written in it, it's just slow. It pretty much got lagged because of the auto-joining of rooms. Also lacks of any e2ee method (even OTR)

+As an XMPP client looks good on first glance , as it doesn't depend on any graphical toolkit other than Tk , but for some odd reason I just can't login with my Jabber ID....

+This is the browser on which I (used to) do my daily web surfing , which I customized to my needs.
+For example, I modified two of its core modules to make the browser actually more usable, like disabling JavaScript and other plugins by default , removed corporate search engines, and added others, more privacy respecting ones. 
+And other miscellaneous things to it like user-agent spoofing and caret browsing (which allows scrolling using Vim-like keybindings) , and its default homepage to "about:blank"
+If I ever want to visit other sites part of the "modern" web (thankfully it's not much) , I use Falkon , which I'll mention later on this post. Other than that , Luakit seems fine to me , almost never crashed, and I feel comfy using it.

+This was my backup web browser which I use for browsing "modern" sites and the Fediverse social media , but also development platforms like Gitea or SourceHut. 
+While I don't use it much and it's barely customized , it works how I want it to work. 
+Unlike luakit I can't use Vim-like keybindings here without an addon (and Falkon kind of lacks addon support) , but that's not much of a problem. 
+It sometimes crashes , but it's due to running out of memory , thus requiring me to close some running programs on my host. Otherwise it's a nice browser.

+I once tried this web browser but given that I don't like touchscreen UI on desktop and this had practically no useful keybindings I don't use it.

+# Netsurf
+Really nice browser, but I mostly was reluctant to daily drive it for odd reasons. Most HTML5 sites are broken on this browser (it's a feature and that's good) because it's a real web browser for real web standards.

+# Qutebrowser
+This one was once my main browser but because it's too heavy for my host (both memory usage and disk space) I stopped using it. 
+I would consider using it again but I'm just reluctant. It works fine on my laptop though.

+Really good and all but doesn't support disabling JavaScript neither it has a per-domain whitelist[*]. 
+Also it lacks tabs but for that the "tabbed" utility from suckless.org can be attached to the browser.

+So, for very (odd) reasons I got obsessed with the gruvbox color scheme, though it wasn't the first time it actually happened, I even used it on my site for quite a while until I changed the CSS. 
+I'm currently using it again for the following things:

+
+It's mostly because I'm nostalgic of retro-looking things, and in my opinion, anything modern sucks. 
+Also any kind of light themes hurt my eyes, even gruvbox-light, that's why I use the dark one, because of that exact reason.

+I've been using Kristall as a HTTP(S) browser for a whole day yesterday, turns out it works pretty much anywhere unless the site is obese (in the sense of bloat), which
+in that case it doesn't load it at all (it's a feature). My brief experience with it was okay, don't have to complain.

+It's been some time I haven't written the usual status updates every
+month or so. I'll start studying again in March 9, in a programming
+course I've signed up to a week ago, which turns out it's from a nearby
+university, which I'm pretty sure it's gonna be fun doing so, after that
+I might go studying languages, like French or something, i'm not really
+sure. Also, I've decided to make this blog only available through Gemini
+and Gopher, as well as leaving ActivityPub social media for the reasons
+explained in #cgx8ry. As for the WWW though, the only thing so far
+keeping me in is Yarn Social, which is the only sane social network
+(based on plaintext at its core) in my opinion, and the website was
+already moved to Gemini. To not break existing Logarion text imports,
+the HTTP site still holds the text files, so they can continue to be
+pulled if wanted.
